Additional scenarios
When data is available for the expected effects of the TasWater Launceston Sewage Improvement Plan, and the NRM North Water Quality Improvement Plan, we expect to run additional scenarios to predict the effect on water quality in the Tamar Lake environment.
Infrastructure Tasmania Presentation
On Monday, I travelled to Hobart to brief the new CEO of Infrastructure Tasmania, Allan Garcia, on the Tamar Lake project. The 2 hour presentation was well received with Allan commenting that it is a very exciting project. I would expect Tamar lake to be on his short list of projects provided the 3 D modelling results turn out as expected.
Government Approvals Process
The Major Projects Approvals Agency (MPAA) has completed and costed the Tamar Lake legislative approvals plan, with the total planning process expected to take around 3 years (including provision for a referral to the Department of the Environment under the EPBC act) and cost between $250K and $500K in government fees. The consultant’s fees for preparing the submissions has not yet been costed.
Tamar Lake Environmental Impact
